"Dolly Parton's "Rockstar" Album: New Tracks, Collaborations, and Philanthropic Endeavors"
Renowned global icon and recent inductee into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, Dolly Parton, has unveiled two fresh tracks from her upcoming album, "Rockstar," scheduled to be released on November 17. The first track, titled "Bygones (feat. Rob Halford)," features special guests Nikki Sixx and John 5 from MÖTLEY CRÜE, while the second track is a personalized cover of the classic rock song "Magic Man (Carl Version) (feat. Ann Wilson)" with Howard Leese as a special guest. These releases come after the success of Parton's original lead single, "World On Fire," which reached the number one position on the Billboard Rock Digital Songs chart upon its release last month.
Dolly enthusiastically expressed her thoughts on the new tracks. Regarding "Bygones," she mentioned that it's one of her personal favorites from the entire album, being an original song of hers featuring Rob Halford from JUDAS PRIEST, along with Nikki Sixx and John 5. She emphasized the special significance of collaborating with Rob, one of her all-time favorite artists. On the other hand, her cover of "Magic Man" by HEART, named the "Carl Version," holds a special place in her heart as she had always desired to sing that particular song. She was elated when Ann Wilson agreed to join her in the rendition, acknowledging that Ann's vocal prowess is unmatched. Dolly added her own touch to the song by incorporating a few lines not present in the original, aiming to make it uniquely theirs. She hopes that she has done justice to the track and made her fans proud, describing the experience as magical.
Parton assembled a star-studded lineup of musicians for her "Rockstar" collection, consisting of 30 songs, including nine original tracks and 21 iconic rock anthems. The album, set to be globally released on November 17 through Butterfly Records with distribution by Big Machine Label Group, will be available in various formats, such as a four-LP set, a two-CD set, digital download, and on all major streaming platforms.
Expressing her excitement, Dolly shared her enthusiasm for presenting her first rock and roll album, "Rockstar." She expressed deep gratitude and honor for having the opportunity to collaborate with some of the greatest iconic singers and musicians of all time. Singing the iconic songs featured on the album brought immeasurable joy to her. She sincerely hopes that her fans will enjoy the album as much as she enjoyed putting it together.
During her Rock Hall induction speech, Parton mentioned several artists she wished to collaborate with for her rock album. She revealed that she and Steve Perry would be performing JOURNEY's "Open Arms" together.
Parton further explained her decision to create a rock and roll album, stating that if she were to be in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, she wanted to earn her place through her work. Consequently, she embarked on the rock album project, collaborating with the rock stars she had met on the induction night. She later connected with Rob Halford through her manager, Danny Nozell, and the project took shape with various ideas.
