"Garth Brooks' Beer Choice at New Bar Draws Outrage from Conservative Fans"

Garth Brooks has stirred up controversy among country music fans by stating that his new bar, Friends In Low Places Bar & Honky Tonk, will serve all brands of beer, including Bud Light. This decision has upset some conservative individuals who have criticized Bud Light for its collaboration with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney, leading to a widespread boycott of the brand.
The collaboration between Bud Light and Mulvaney sparked a significant backlash, with individuals such as Kid Rock publicly showing their disdain by filming themselves shooting cases of the beer. Brooks, who is the second-best selling musical artist of all time, expressed his hope that his bar would become "the Chick-fil-A of honky-tonks." He emphasized the importance of creating a safe and friendly environment where people can coexist and enjoy themselves. Brooks defended his decision to serve all beer brands, stating that it was not his place to make that judgment. However, he made it clear that individuals displaying disrespectful behavior would not be welcomed in his establishment, suggesting they find other places on lower Broadway.

While several bars in the same area, including Kid Rock's Big Ass Honky Tonk Rock n' Roll Steakhouse, initially removed Bud Light from their menus in response to the controversy, Bud Light has since returned to the steakhouse's menu. Nevertheless, Brooks' support for the beer has angered some of his conservative audience, leading to the hashtag #boycottgarthbrooks gaining traction on social media.

Numerous individuals expressed their outrage, with one TikToker even stating their intention to visit Nashville to deface Brooks' property. Republican Robert Cornicelli, who ran for New York's 2nd Congressional District, vowed to remove all of Brooks' songs from his collection, while another TikToker referred to Brooks as a "sissyboy" and questioned his patriotism. Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz even joined the conversation, alleging that Brooks had cheated on his first wife.

This is not the first time Brooks has faced backlash from conservatives. He was previously threatened with a boycott in 2021 when he performed at President Joe Biden's inauguration. Following the Mulvaney partnership, Bud Light has made changes to its marketing approach and replaced its vice president of marketing. In a public letter, Anheuser-Busch CEO Brendan Whitworth highlighted the company's history of supporting various communities, including the military, first responders, and hard-working Americans.
